Lady in RŪPA

LADY IN RŪPA comprises a Cleopatra-inspired figure adorned in a Victorian style gown. The body of the gown is filled with an elegant vine motif, while the sleeves feature an overlapping plated design, representing armour. The combination of the vines and plated armour resemble daintiness and strength, respectively.

An intricate geometric pattern positioned above the waistline serves as a minimalistic waist cincher belt. The piece is concluded with a gorget, a special piece of armour used to protect the neck of a soldier. Each piece in the exhibition features a different take on the gorget's geometric design. An assemblage of continuous lines serves as the backdrop for each piece.

The gorget in this piece is branded with RŪPA by darkening certain blocks within the geometric design, providing a more literal meaning to the title of the piece, "LADY IN RŪPA".
